I would like to see some more discussion on the subject of the "Prisoners Dilemna". I just acquired the book, "The Evolution of Cooperation", by Prof. Robert Axelrod. It seems quite interesting. -Tom

If you can find it, the book "Demand Revelation and the Provision of Public Goods" by E. Clarke (out of print) would seem to be a milestone. I'm trying to find it (I've an out-of-print search running now). If YOU find it, please let me know -- I want to get a copy to redeem a promise....

Actually, Clarke's book is not a good place for fundamentals; but if you look up "game theory" in the subject catalog you'll probably find a lot of material. One book I remember as being somewhat worthwhile is by Hamburger; I think the title is something like "Games and Social Phenomena". There is a journal called *Theory and Decision*; but most of its articles are technical, with lots of difficult logical notation. --Paul V Torek torek@umich
