I've had a fair bit of trouble with saved games -- often (especially with games at the lower levels) I would get a memory fault and core dump upon restoring a saved game. I remember reading a fortune cookie saying that "It's not safe to save"; is this a known bug? Or is it just me? -- Elgin Lee UUCP: ..decvax!decwrl!glacier!navajo!ehl ARPA: ehl@su-navajo.ARPA, ehl@su-score.ARPA

I remember reading a fortune cookie saying that > "It's not safe to save"; is this a known bug? Or is it just me? I don't know about the rest of you other sites in NetLand, but I have never seen nor heard any on our machine complain of a core dump from Hack (as the local maintainer, I would probably be notified of one (I've been notified of other bugs)). Hack currently is the most popular game on our system so there have been plenty of chances for one to show up. Also, save's work fine. You may want to check to make sure everything in config.h is set up correctly. We HAVE been a few problems with lock files not going away, however... robert -- Robert Viduya Office of Computing Services Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta GA 30332 Phone: (404) 894-4669 ...!{akgua,allegra,amd,hplabs,ihnp4,masscomp,ut-ngp}!gatech!gitpyr!robert ...!{rlgvax,sb1,uf-cgrl,unmvax,ut-sally}!gatech!gitpyr!robert
