After dying untold deaths I have made it to the 23rd level but I cannot figure out how to kill the dragons there. I try to avoid the dragon, but it seems I can't outrun it. Any ideas? caribou!bill

I had was running a critter the other day that had all sorts of armor (AC=-4), a mediocre sword, 18/** strength and ~90 hitpoints when I stumbled into a zoo. Well, among the usual monsters (demons, trappers, urviles and other what-not) there was this dragon. Well, as soon as I stepped into the room the dragon flames. The dragon was sitting at the back of the room. The dragon's flame had to cross the entire room to get to me. The dragon's flame took out all of 5 monsters before it got to me. Gee, what a stroke of luck. It ended up with the dragon taking out all the monsters except this one demon (well, there was only one at the time). So I went and start hacking at the dragon and even- tually killed him (he brought my hp down to ~20). And I was left facing this one demon (no, _t_w_o... wait a minute, _T_H_R_E_E). After using all my heal potions, I figured out the best way to kill a demon. Back them into a dead end (if you're lucky enough to have one handy) and start pounding on them. Demons can't replicate of there's no place for the replica to appear into. Needless to say, I survived the level.
