[net.games.hack] bug & complaint

bug report:
Hack 1.0.2 have been installed here, but when I played I discovered that
the characters always start in the same room, with the same inventory
and the same objects lying around (even with the same labels, but different
locations). For example, the wizard character starts with a wand of cold,
a wand of invisible, a scroll of genocide and a scroll of blank paper.
Not bad, you might say, but it DOES get a bit boring! luckily starting
from the 2nd level on they're random, so it isn't that bad, but part of the
fun is wondering and finding out what exactly it is you're carrying!
Does anyone one out there in netland have the same problem?
Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks in advance!!

complaint *SPOILER*
I found that some of the new features, while present in the source,
is not mentioned in the help file.  How would anyone, not having peeked at the
code, know to use the #dip command? 
or that "Croesus"/"Kroisos" is the 'correct' answer to the vault guard's 
question?  This isn't even mentioned in the rumor file as 
"ELbereth" and "Orcrist" were!
I found this quite unfair to those poor souls who doesn't have access to the
source or those who refuse to look at it.
Comments anyone?
