I would wish for diamonds -- the other stuff should come along by the time one gets to level 28. Also, why not go all the way to the lowest reaches (level 39 or so) and get mucho points and wands of wishing? The Wizard of Yendor is not so bad once he is put to sleep. My copy of 1.0.2 says that there is no way to ensure that c's will not kill you. Am I misreading it or something? Isn't there a chance in 5 that you will hear a hiss, and at LEAST a chance in 20 that hearing a hiss will kill you (there are ways to improve this probability to or near to 1.0)??
