<you float over the line eater> In my many games of hack I have found many uses of levitation:. To name a few: to avoid traps (pits, posion darts, bear traps, trap doors, etc) this is especially useful if you are currently under the effects of a potion (such as 'speed' or invisibility and you don't want to get delayed by a trap (which will cut down the usefulness) another use of this is to float over traps and lure monsters into them to avoid mishaps: whwn wielding a basilisk corpse it means death (as i found out) to stumble upon at pit or trap door. to avoid the pools: when on level ~20 you will encounter a room full of pools containing eels. By levitating you can avoid the pools and (if they are empty) not drown. to avoid basilisk corpses: after you kill a basilisk or two you can wear a ring of levitation to avoid accidentily touching the corpses (which occurs quite frequently if you teleport and/or have a dog. to examine treasure rooms: when I first go into a shop I like to see everything before I pick it up. while i can m<dir> I perfer to wear the ring or quaff the potion andnormal move over a likely (interesting) treasure. Then I use the colon ':' command to see what is on the floor. (You do know about the colon command - I discovered it accidently since it is not in the help file) --- That's all for now, folks! --- Glenn Host
