[net.games.hack] Xans

wutka@gitpyr.UUCP (Mark Wutka) (08/13/85)

I think that there should be some way to get immunity from xans !
Why can't you eat them and then quaff a potion of speed or something
for immunity ?? I think that would be a little more fair.

What about being able to zap them with a wand of cancellation and having
some effect. As it is now they are the second creature I genocide (Xorns
first).

What I did for this was to implement boots (analagous to the way
gloves allow you to carry dead cockatrices).

By the way, I've also implemented:

	- maps (scroll of magic mapping merely creates a map)
	- wand of recharging (can use it to recharge other wands)
	- split wands into one of secret door detection
	  and one of trap detection
	- wand of rearrangement (just calls mklev again)
(this one doesn't work completely yet)
	- fixed various lossages in save/restore code

I don't know what hack version we have, but if anyone's interested
I'll be glad to discuss these changes. If there is enough interest, I
may post them.
