After an excellent game in which I mangaed to get out alive with the Amulet of Yendor, I had quaffed so many potions of gain level and eaten so many wraiths that I had reached the 29th experience level. After being bashed by nurses my hit point maximum was 279. Are there any limits on experience levels or on maximum hit points. I did hear a rumour that there is some limit on older versions but being fairly new to this game I'm not so sure.
