The last posting was 1.0.2 back in April, and there hasn't been any full source posting since. This is my theory: At some point, Mr. Jones wrote an article about Hack, and his version 1.0.3 was actually a typo (should have been 1.0.2). In a follow- up article, Mr. Smith (not wanting to let the world know he has antique software) referred to his version as 1.0.3. Many others followed suit and before long, it was 'common knowledge' that 1.0.3 was the latest and if you ain't got it you ain't hip (word substitution, there). I came to this conclusion after many months of making requests myself, and watching many others make similar requests. During the same time, I saw everyone who got their hands on Search and Phantasia shar up and post their own tweeked version of the code. Net.sources.games hasn't seen a major posting for several weeks now, so heavy traffic isn't the problem... So take your Hack sources, grep everywhere for 1.0.2, change it to 1.0.3 and you will have the latest code. To he who posted the 1.0.3 patches a few months ago: Save your flames... Yes I did see them, but after trying to implement all the patches that had been posted previously to fix this little bug and that, I had little success making the upgrade. So I, as well as many others, decided to wait for a full distribution, rather than hacking up my Hack any further. --pat--
