How about this for a new type of wand: Wand of Levitation. This would levitate anything that you zap it at. It would allow you to move UNDER monsters. I have not read through the code, so I don't know how practical this may be to implement. Any ideas? -- --------------------------- Todd Cooper UUCP: ...!harvard!bu-cs!todd ...!harvard!think!festiv!todd CSNET: todd@bu-cs BITNET: cscpyqc@bostonu USNail: 29 Gordon Street #201, Brighton, MA 02135

OK, here are some ideas of what I'd like to see in new
versions of rogue/hack.
(1). Unlimited increase in monster powers as you go down
levels (in versions I have played after a certain level
nothing new happens and it is too easy to be a total
winner).
(2). Multiplayer rogue where several players can be playing
the same game and fight each other, trade with each other,
etc.
(3). Multipower custom designed wands, i.e. a wand can have
several powers at once (cold/confusion/cancellation say),
which powers can be picked by the player.
(4). Charged weapons, i.e. a two-handed sword that causes
confusion when it hits as well as damage.
(5). Random order of new spells for magicians, or allowing
a choice between several new spells (same goes for
prayers).
More later, perhaps ...cc1@ucla-cs.UUCP (11/12/85)
More importantly, a ring of levitation should let you walk ABOVE the monsters without fighting them. This might not work for large monsters (dragons), but should work for small (humanoid?) monsters. Michael Gersten
