Has anybody discovered how to prevent drowning in the pools filled with 'muddy water and eels'? I have died numerous times this way, and most of the times I have teleported right into the water, so I didn't get a chance to plan a strategy. How do you learn to swim? Does weight have anything to do with the ability to swim, or is it just pure luck? I was down to level 23 yesterday when I teleported into the pool, and drowned immediately. This reminds me of the times I fell down the stairs onto a cockatrice corpse (remainders of a ghost's pack) and was turned to stone. Thanks, Sue

1) Don't step into a pool.
2) If you're going to teleport, learn to control it. Put on a ring of
teleport control before eating that leprechaun.
If you have the ability to teleport at will (i.e., ^T works), then if
you fall into a pool, you will automatically try to teleport away.
To fight eels, you need the ability to see invisible creatures. This
can be acquired by wearing a ring of see invisible, or by eating a dead
stalker when you are invisible (drink the potion). There's no real
point in killing eels except for the experience points or if you're
going to travel through their swamp a lot.
