Okay folks here is a scenario to get a just about fifteen million (!!!) : 1) You keep starting up a new character as a 'W'izard until you have a wand of polymorph. Then you start searching for other wands until you have about 5 or 6 wands (You can get them quite easily if you start up a few characters as a wizard and let them die at level 3 or 4 until you have a bones-level with a few wands). 2) Start polymorphing your wands taking out : - all wands of polymorph, - all wands of wishing, - all wands of create monster (as soon as you've got good armor and weapons). 3) Use your wands of wishing for : - wands of polymorph (if you need them); - good armor and weapons until it's almost impossible to get killed (When I played my Armor Class was -15 and I had a +6 crysknife) - potions of gain level for good Hit points (I had about 300) - everything you need to get the amulet: scrolls of teleportation ring of teleport control ring of fire resistance (or eat a dragon) potions of confusion potions of levitation (or ring) - scrolls of genocide to genocide xans, cockatrices and most of the low level monsters (I genocided : cxBGHJKraEhiOyZAfNpgjk) 4) Zap all your wands of create monster until you sure you've killed ---> ALL <--- monsters (Hack keeps track of how many of each monster you've killed, when you have killed 100 of one kind this kind will automaticly by added to the list of genocided monsters) P.S. This will take some time !! 5) When you have wished everything you needed start saving your wands of wishing until your inventory consists of : - ring of teleport control - 1 scroll of teleportation - 1 potion of confusion - The amulet - 37 wands of wishing - 1 diamond - NOTHING else : NO gold pieces NO armor or weapons (You don't need them anyway : you killed all monsters) 6) Put enough food rations on one pile (If you don't have enough start polymorphing dead monsters or tripe rations into food rations, I think 20 will do). On top of this pile you drop all your gold. (make sure you've got all the gold from every level -> 40 scrolls of gold detection) 7) Now 'm'ove on to the pile of food and pickup (';') your gold. If everything went right you should not be able to move (You collapse under your load). Now start zapping your wands of wishing and wish for 3 diamonds. Don't panic about the fact that when you list you inventory the characters start wrapping around so you get things like a - 3 diamonds b - 3 diamonds .... ] - 3 diamonds .... a - 3 diamonds b - 3 diamonds, it's only the listing. The program keeps your inventory as a linked list. When you zapped all you wands you should have : 37 * 4 * 3 + 1 = 445 diamonds !! When you get hungry you eat one of the food rations that you are standing on. 8) Drink your potion of confusion and read the scroll of teleportation : "To what level do you want to teleport? [type a number] " Now type 0 (zero) and you will escape the dungeon (with 445 diamonds) 9) Last remarks : - It is possible to kill more than 100 monsters of one kind. The program counts the number of monsters you've KILLED not the number he MAKES. What you can do is : - stand on a staircase (up or down) - engrave Elbereth - empty a few wands of create monster - go to another level - start killing monsters until you killed 100 monsters of each kind - go back to the other level and start killing the other monsters !!. - Make sure you've got maximum carrying capacity (No wounded legs, maximum strength : 18/00) - Don't forget to pick up all the wands of wishing on every maze-level. (saves time). - From all the monsters you kill you get lots of goodies, some of them you can use (the wands), some of them you can polymorph into stuff you can use, but the rest is useless (just think about the 100 wormteeth you going to get). Do not leave all the stuff on the same level on which you are playing, because at the end there are so many items on that level that it will take minutes just to do one move 10) Using a bug you can get an even higher score : if you polymorph quantity of items, the program does NOT calculate the weight of the new object properly. What happens is that the program will make a new object of the same type as the one you zapped, but the new object is made in quantities which you normally find them in (so if it is gems the quantity will be 1 or 2 , if it is armor the quantity will by 1 and if they are arrows the quantity will be between 6 and 12). Then the weight of this quantity is calculated and assigned to the object and afterwards the quantity is set to that of the zapped object without re-calculating the weight. So if you polymorph 255 rocks into 255 gems the weight of these gems will be the weight of 1 or 2 gems. However if you drop a fraction of these gems the program re-calculates the weight of the number of gems that are left and that of the number you dropped. Now you can replace 5) by : 5) When you have wished everything you needed start saving your wands of wishing until your inventory consists of : - ring of teleport control - 1 scroll of teleportation - 1 potion of confusion - 255 diamonds - 255 rubies - 255 sapphires - 255 emeralds - 255 turquoise stones - 255 aquamarine stones - 255 tourmaline stones - 255 topaz stones - 255 opal stones - 255 garnet stones - 255 amerthyst stones - 255 agate stones - 255 onyx stones - 255 jasper stones - 255 jade stones (all of these gems should have the weight of 1 or 2 gems) - the amulet - all the wands of wishing you can carry (at least 27 and at most 32). -- Maarten Jan Huisjes. I think the purpuse of a game is to get the highest score. The way I get it depends on how I want to play the game. If I didn't like to play the way I did, I wouldn't have done it!! -- Maarten Jan Huisjes. (maartenj@ark.UUCP) {seismo|decvax|philabs}!mcvax!vu44!ark!maartenj
