I LOVE HACK. I USED TO LOVE ROGUE. BUT .... people, let's get serious! Do all you net.hackers play as some sort of super-immune-demigod ???? I mean, I must have close to 100 hours invested and even WITH net.hack the best I can manage is level 20 occasionally ..... AM I THAT STUPID (rhetorical question - no answers please)? I saw my first SWAMP the other day (or is it a lake?) - and there are monsters I've never SEEN! The AMULET, the WIZARD, HELL, a level of all MAZES??????? Good grief gang - is this your life???? So what am I doing wrong???? - What's the best way to get to level 20 without investing an hour???? Is there some way to save multiple copies of a game (always a fun way to cheat)? Does anyone playing hack have time for REAL jobs? But the most annoying thing of all is, to spite all this, it's the best damn UNIX game around. Let's see some postings on fundamental philosophies of hacking - and good heavens, if you follow this article up, DON'T reiterate all the above ravings first! ---------------------------------------------------------- cutesie signoff
