I would like to conduct a survey of euphemisms that people use to mean that a person is crazy, insane, etc. Some typical examples are: 1) S/he is not rowing with both oars in the water. 2) S/he is half a bubble off plumb. 3) The lights are on but nobody is home. 4) The elevator does not go all the way to the top. 5) S/he is not playing with a full deck. Please mail all responses directly to me (not over the net), I will summarize the results and post them to the net in a few weeks. Please include in your responses the area of the country in which you have heard your euphemisms and I will try to summarize the geographical distribution as well. My mailing address is: speed@uwvax Thanks in Advance, Paul Laudon
