Query: Why did Al Haig quit? Current Hypotheses: (1) The man just can't hold down a steady job. Look at the last four years: Head of Nato in Europe. Presidential candidate. President of United Technologies. Secretary of State. 4 jobs in 4 years. The guy's worse than Billy Martin. (2) He's just following a trend; what's good enough for Cy Vance is good enough for Al Haig. (3) He wants to run for higher office -- maybe Pope, President, or Mayor of Jersey City.
