Once you get the new routing tables, the node is uoft02 and user is BRIAN. Anyway, who's bringing what to decus? I sent you a tape yesterday that is current, so will you merge that in for decus or should I bring a tape? brian [Ed. - The tape was received and installed at Columbia, and the new PDP-11 files, as well as anything else that arrives before Dec 7 (including the other new Kermits announced below) will be on the Kermit tapes at DECUS in Anaheim, Dec 9-14, and all the latest Kermits will be submitted to the various DECUS SIGs, one way or another. Version 2.24 of PDP-11 Kermit for is now available for RSX-11/M/M+, RT-11, RSTS/E, P/OS, TSX+. This release supersedes version 2.22 from September 1984. New features include Pro-3xx P/OS support, Pro/RT11 support, error logging, repeat compression prefix, virtual overlays. The files are in KER:K11*.* on CU20B. There are many files; if you want to pick & choose, first look at KER:K11FIL.DOC (somewhat out of date, but mostly correct). You should also look at KER:K11INS.DOC, which describes the different implementations, system requirements, etc.] ------------------------------ Date: 30 Nov 84 20:10:25 EST From: Frank da Cruz <SY.FDC@CU20B> Subject: New Kermit for Tandem Computers To: Info-Kermit A Kermit server for the Tandem computer has been submitted by Charles J. Cantor Cantor Consulting 116 Dickerman Rd. Newton, MA 02161 It sends and receive ASCII files only, one at a time (no wildcards). It includes repeat counts and 8th-bit quoting. It's written in TAL, the Tandem implementation language. It's in KER:TANDEM.TAL. The documentation is at the top of the program. ------------------------------ Date: 30 Nov 1984 1850-EST From: Frank da Cruz <SY.FDC@CU20B> To: Info-Kermit Subject: New Kermit for the Apollo Workstation A new Kermit implementation for the Apollo workstation has been developed at Control Data Corporation and submitted by: Duane Jergens Magnetic Peripherals, Inc, 7801 Computer Ave. S. Minneapolis MN 55435 This implementation is written in Pascal; it supports local, remote, and server operation, it implements most of the commands from the protocol manual, and includes Cyber-722 terminal emulation. The files are in KER:APOLLO.PAS (source), KER:APOLLO.HLP (help file), and KER:APOTERM.PAS (terminal emulation). This version of Kermit is independent of the Apollo Fortran implementation by John Lee of RCA Laboratories, which remains available as KER:APOKERMIT.*. ------------------------------ Date: 30 Nov 1984 1900-EST From: John Mealing, Intecom Inc, Allen TX To: Info-Kermit Subject: CP/M-80 Kermit for the Heath H8 Here is a modification of CP/M Kermit to allow setting and display of baud rates, a bug fix in telnet, and an extension of the HELP to show GET (which works in this release, on the H8). Look for the new symbol "h8quad" (for the heath quad i/o board that it uses) in the conditionals. Note that the Heath H8 is NOT the same machine as the H89! The H89 code does not run 'as is' on the H8, and does NOT initialize the UART. Also there was a bug in the telnet section that is fixed here, though I expect that it has already been found and fixed by now - this is from the DECUS FALL 83 tape. The comments were stripped out of this file to make it small enough for my H8 to assemble, however, I have put the first section back in to make it easier for you to identify. Thanks for a nice product to use and work on. Major insertions are heavily commented, edit as needed. This modification done by John Mealing, InteCom Inc, 601 Intecom Dr., Allen, TX 75002 (214)797-9141, x-2493, 5 Nov 84. [Ed. - Based on CP/M-80 Kermit v3.5. The files are in KER:CPMH8.M80 and KER:CPMH8.HEX.] ------------------------------ Date: 30 Nov 1984 0034-EST From: Joe Smith, Colorado School of Mines Forwarded-By: B.Eiben LCG <EIBEN%DEC-MARLBORO@columbia.arpa> To: Info-Kermit@cu20b Subject: Revision 3 of TI-PRO Support for MS-DOS Kermit This version works with the TI internal modem and has built-in Tektronix 4010 terminal emulation. If anyone wants to add interrupt handling to MSXTIPRO.ASM, be my guest. I intend to add more to MSXTEK.ASM to turn it into an ESCape sequence processor general enough to handle HEATH/VT52, ANSI/VT100, and both TEK and ReGIS graphics. NOTE: You must edit MSCOMM.ASM to add PORT3 and PORT4 - See MSXTIPRO.BWR for details. Joe Smith CSM Computing Center 1500 Illinois Street Golden CO 80401 [Ed. - The files are KER:MSXTIPRO.ASM, .BOO, .BAT, .BWR, and KER:MSXTEK.ASM. use MSXTIPRO.BAT to assemble and link the program for the TI Pro. MSTIPRO.EXE is in KB:.] ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Nov 84 23:57 EST From: Frankston.SoftArts@MIT-MULTICS.ARPA Subject: Re: PCDOS/MSDOS Kermit suggestion To: Daphne Tzoar <Sy.Daphne@CU20B.ARPA>, INFO-Kermit@CU20B.ARPA [This was a suggestion in V1 #39 for using the BIOS whenever it was feasible]. Since I generally run at much over 1200, the ability to use the BIOS is quite limited. I only meant to suggest that for the 8 supported baud rates, setting speeds using the BIOS was more robust than going to the chip. Admittedly, this doesn't go very far in solving the problem with the 8251. A related problem with the 8251 and the BIOS is the inability to read out the current baud rate. ------------------------------ Date: 29 Nov 84 10:10:25 EST From: Gadi <FRIEDMAN@RU-BLUE.ARPA> Subject: Victor 9000 kermit? To: info-kermit@CU20B.ARPA We recently got a Victor 9000 donated to us in the MICROLAB, The only software it came with was MS-DOS 1.1 and CPM/86. Since the diskdrives are not compatible with the IBM-PC (they hold over 600k each), is there any way I can get a version of vickkermit to a victor format disk? -Gadi Friedman@Ru-Blue harvard!topaz \ friedman allegra!ru-blue / ------------------------------ End of Info-Kermit Digest ************************* -------
