[net.music.folk] Jesse Colin Young's early records

djw@lanl.ARPA (12/29/84)

I have been a fan of Jesse Colin Young as long as his records were
available. However; I never read fan magazines or paid much attention
to "the music field". If I saw a Jesse Colin Young album, I bought it.
Unfortunately I never saw any for a long time. I first bought
"The Soul of a City Boy" and then I bought his second album,
"Young Blood" (or something close to that name). Then he just disappeared.

Of course, you people all know that a group was formed called
"The Youngbloods" and Jesse Colin Young was part of that group.

Recently I had the chance to watch him perform in a small club high
atop a building in Salt Lake City. After the performance we talked
and I bought a third Jesse Colin Young album. I put my address on
a list he had there to be notified of "new releases".

My question is this: When?

He sang a song that night about the highway ( generic blues plaint of
trips into nowhere ) that was so hauntingly beautiful that I can't
wait to play it for my friends...

I also want to know where I find the names of "The Youngblood's"
albums. I'd like to pick up some JCY albums I missed the first
time around.

The reason this is here is that Jesse Colin Young is a folksinger
on the three albums that I have... and from our talk I got the
impression that he lives in Mill Valley. There are a lot of folks
on the net from that area ( perhaps Marin County, tho ). I thought
maybe, perhaps one of his friends could answer my question. I'ld
look him up myself if I were still out in that area but fortunately
I'm not...
