Attended the San Francisco version of the Reilly and Maloney 15th Anniversary concert on Friday night. In the years of following them, this was the best concert they've ever done. Yes, of course, lots of their oldies, but a few new songs, marvelous renditions, and a fine time had by all. (For those unfamiliar with Reilly and Maloney, they started in San Francisco, have written numerous songs [Ginny has the most wonderful sense of humor on love songs], and have several albums out [Dave will be releasing a solo album around March]. They record on Freckle Records; I've seen their albums and tapes in various music stores [including Tower Records in Mountain View, California, for those in the Bay Area]. Dave is from Central New York, so they tour the East Coast, as well as Seattle and San Francisco.) -- Alan M. I wish that I could have been there for the 15th Anniversary Concert. While I have only known about them for about 4 years, I never miss a chance to see them. I once spent $45 to rent a car while visiting the Seattle area so that I could get to one of their concerts at the Silver Spoon. In addition to being wonderful entertainers, they are also great people. I've had a few opportunities to spend a couple hours talking to them before and after concerts. They really make an effort to be friendly, and even remember my name when we meet. I don't know many other performers of their calibre that make such an effort. I strongly recommend them as contemporary folksingers. Their harmonies are incredibly moving and their shows very entertaining. If anyone knows of any of their upcoming concerts, please post them here. -- bruce stephens (hplabs!hp-pcd!bruce)
