Looking at the last two issues of Rounder Record's newsletter called "concentrics", I note the following items of possible interest: "Rounder is proud to commence manufacturing, promotion and marketing for Philo Records of Vermont under an agreement worked out in August. Philo and Rounder have sustained a strong relationship over the years and have always worked together with great mutual respect. ... The first new releases will include a new Utah Phillips album entitled "We Have Fed You All a Thousand Years" (PH 1076), recorded live in Canada (an album of labor songs from the I.W.W.) and "The Best of Mary McCaslin" (PH 1075), with Mary's finest material combined on one album. ..." "Since the release of John Fahey's "Let Go", many people seem to have discovered the guitarist's exquisite acoustic music for the first time. The album's press now includes a 4-star Rolling Stone critique and a rave review in Guitar Player" "In the studio is banjo player Bob Carlin, aided and abetted by Norman Blake and James Bryan." "Zydeco master Stanley "Buckwheat" Dural and his Ils Sont Partis Band were the opening act at the 600 year centennial celebration of the city of Stockholm, Sweden." [This group also has a new record out on Rounder which is more of the modern Zydeco sound- LCM] -- Internet: lee@rochester.arpa UUCP: {decvax, allegra, seismo, cmcl2}!rochester!lee Phone: [USA] (716) 275-7747, -5671 Physical: 43 01' 40'' N, 77 37' 49'' W
