[net.music.folk] Grit Laskin

jimb@utcs.UUCP (Jim Bailey) (07/23/85)

Being an acquaintance of Mr. William 'Grit' Laskin, I could
probably find out prices for his pipes. Will post the info when I can
get it.
BTW, for those who may be interested, Grit plays in a group
called "The Friends of Fiddler's Green" (named after the Fiddler's
Green folk club in Toronto) who have an album out on Fogarty's Cove
records (serial number unknown offhand). Other members of the band are:

Laurence Stevenson (a close personal friend and general all around
		    Glaswegian lunatic. Fiddle player)

Ian Robb (vocals, concertina, abundant wit)

Tam Kearney (guitar, vocals, rotund Glaswegian presence, bad jokes)

Jim Strickland (vocals, sundry implements, diddler)

Dave Parry (vocals, concertina, Medieval English expert, storyteller)

Grit plays all sorts of plucked string instruments, as well as pipes.

All members of the band play other instruments as required or as
ability permits.

As this is only my second posting to the net, and as the only
way to describe response to the last one would be "bugger all", I
would appreciate some feedback so that I can find out how far this gets.
Any requests for information on the above persons, band, club, etc.
may be directed to this location.
