Wanted: name of record with a recording of the Hangman Song (the one where the guy's hoping someone will bring silver or gold so the Hangman won't hang him). The Smothers Brothers and New Christy Minstrels only recorded a funny (?) truncated version of this. I've written a filk to it and my guitarist wants to hear a recording of the full thing before he's willing to sing it. --Lee Gold

My husband sings a version of the Hangman Song (I think he has it on a tape. He does have it in his book of dulcimer (mountain) tunes. If you're interested I could probably arrange something, such as a copy of the music (with dulcimer tablature) or a copy of the tape, for a small monitary contribution.
