The Covenant with the Children of Israel remains in effect, and most practicing Jews who accept Yeshua the Nazarene as the Messiah still obey all the Law. When the Gentiles were given the opportunity to join the fellowship of believers, there was a considerable controversy about whether they should be made to convert to Judaism and follow the whole Covenant. The concensus of the church leaders was that they wouldn't burden the Gentiles with the legalisms they couldn't always keep perfectly themselves, and they would only expect them to follow the covenant with Noah.
