(Did Rosen write it?? :-) Only kidding Rich) Yes the individual is responsible for its own sins and to atone for them either in this or the next life. But this does NOT mean that we can never please God. Indeed God loves and delights in all His creatures (even Rosen and myself). That is one reason the Son was sacrificed.
