It does seem that many people see their religions >as a way of ordering their lives to distinguish what they "SHOULD" do from >what they "SHOULDN'T", so that they can adhere to a list of such things and >order their lives around it. Rich. You know this is net.religion.christian. Why do you persist in being rude? The purpose of this newsgroup is to provide a forum for the reasonable and non-antagonistic discussion of Christianity and its offshoots, not for criticism by vocal non-Christians of the practice of Christianity. The quote above, while less hostile than your usual commentary on Christianity, is still not appropriate to net.religion.christian. It is tantamount to my posting an article to net.religion.jewish asking why Jews bother with all those rules and regulations. Rude and in poor taste. Your question is, however, in keeping with the original spirit of net.religion, which was rendered useless when a small subset of the readership decided to flame each other rather than discussing things like adults. KEEP IT IN NET.RELIGION or post personal mail! Please. Hutch
