Hi,
Here's a real live, happened this week to me, Blessing from God:
My wife and I have been trying to sell our condo for the last year
without success. The bank wouldn't convert the loan to a 30 year fixed,
from the existing 3 year renegotiable loan (ARM) we had, which would make
selling the condo much easier. And we couldn't find a house that we
liked, at the price we could afford.
A week ago last Wednesday, my wife said that we either sell the condo and buy
a house, or we stay in the condo and pay it off as soon as possible by stopping
our tithing. I wanted to continue the way we were. We were not happy with
eachother or the situation. So I went and prayed for just a few minutes
and felt the Lord say it will all be taken care of in the next 2 weeks. So I
went back to Kris and said if we don't have it taken care of in the next 2
weeks, that I'd agree to stop tithing, and pay off the condo faster. She said
that she'd just be happy to have the condo sold, but I said the agreement was
also to include buying a house. We prayed to God, telling Him what we wanted,
and left it in His hands. I now really believe God will even handle the family
situations so Peace will be present.
The next day, a realty agent I had been working with to find property to
build on (a Christian Brother) called me to see where things were at.
I told him of our decision to buy an existing house, and the size we were
looking for. He said he had just seen such a house. I looked at it that
night and liked it. Kris looked at it the next night and liked it. My Dad
looked at it last Monday and said it was structurally sound. Kris and I put
earnest money on the house Tuesday, with a provision we sell the condo in 2
weeks. They refused the earnest money so long as we had the provision.
They also are a Christian couple, and had been led by the Lord not to take
any provisions (this is the truth). So they gave us 48 hours to counter offer.
BTW, the price they were asking would make our monthly payments only a
little higher than what we are paying right now, but almost 1,000
more square feet to live in, with a 12,500 square foot lot.
While all this was happening, the bank decided to make an exception in our
case, and converted the loan to a fixed, at a lower interest rate than we
were currently paying on the 3 year ARM! At no cost!!! And they even decided
to let us sell to a non-occupant owner.
Last night, we got an offer on our condo. 24 hours early for the 48 hour
deadline. PRAISE THE LORD! It's fun watching Him work. And getting the
offer has another story behind it that is fantastic!
Just wanted to share some exciting news with the rest of my Family.

P.S. The bank that owns the paper on the house we are buying offered us
a loan at below market rates. Its some new deal they're trying out.
