[net.misc] Farewell to my fellow NET users

lute (07/29/82)

It is with great regret I must announce that as of 7/31/82 I will no longer
be on the net. I am making a career change and will be leaving Bell Labs
to pursue work at AT&T. I will not have a terminal for some time, and even
once I get one I probably won't be able to tie into the net. So I'd like to
take the opportunity to say "goodbye" to all of you, from the US and Canada,
that I have met on the NET. I have enjoyed "listening" to many other
subscribers' discussions on the NET. I have also been very gratified
from the responses and mail I have received from many of you in topics
that I have started, such as:

The validity of current X vs. R ratings in movies (net.movies)

Responsibilities of adults and childrens' addiction to computer games(net.misc)

Super-Hero comic book trivia quizzes (net.games.trivia)

Parapsychology and society (net.misc)

Functional Infinity/Universal Space-Time Nexus (net.space)

and all my other little contributions. I hope the NET continues to grow so
that we can all share our insights (scientific and otherwise) with others
in all areas of interest.

("See you in the funny papers")

p.s. I'm sorry if this all sounds maudlin, but please...don't flame about
      it.
