Hi,
Just found out today just how God answered my wife's and my prayers
on our vacation -
We just got back from putting about 1500 miles on our car on a trip
to Banff in beautiful Canada. The day we left I got the car serviced
and headed out. I noticed a noise in the engine but figured it had
just got looked at so, not being mechanically hot, we just enjoyed
ourselves. On the last day of the trip, last Saturday, we had stopped
at 3 Valley Gap in Canada. On leaving the parking lot I noticed a
logging truck coming down the hill, but had lots of time. So I pulled
out into the lane (one lane in each direction) and had the car die.
I just held the key on and pumped the gas. The truck kept coming toward
us. Finally the engine started and I put it to the floor. We still
had time, but it was getting tight. After that, no problems. The
engine noise was still there but everything went fine.
We drove safely on home to Bothell, just north of Seattle.
Last night the car died after I left a friends' house. I was able to
safely coast to a stop and pull off the road. The engine died the
same way it had in Canada, but this time nothing, even my friend who
knows cars couldn't get her going. The fuel pump was dead on my
Ford Mustang (1977). Had the car towed into a local station. They called
me back today to confirm the fuel pump was gone. Later they called
back to tell me that the water pump was so far gone that it wasn't funny.
This was the cause of my noise. For 1500 miles.
My wife and I prayed each morning before we took off that God would
Bless us and those around us with safety, and that we would have
a deeper experience of His presence with us. We did. Praise God.
