[net.religion.christian] Who are our enemies?

ptl@fluke.UUCP (Mike Andrews) (10/21/85)

Hi,

The question that often gets overlooked in many discussions is
`Who are our enemies?' Ephesians 6:12 states clearly: `Our battle is not
against human forces but against the principalities and powers, the
rulers of this world of darkness, the evil spirits in regions above.'
The Bible points out there is a spiritual world we live in, just as
real as the physical. It influences us in many ways - as evidenced by
the effect both good (angels of the Lord) and bad (demons) spirits had
in the course of many events in the Bible. You can even find many
examples of how they effect us today - visit your local Christian
book store. The Hunter's have a book out called `Angels on Assignment.'
It gives many examples of the influence God's angels have had in the
lives of different people today. They are also careful to point out
that angels are not to be worshipped. They are servants of the Lord.

Involvement with anything to do with the evil forces of the spiritual
world are forbidden by God. Refer to Deuteronomy 18:11-12: `Let there
not be found among you anyone who immolates his son or daughter in the
fire, nor a fortune-teller, soothsayer, charmer, diviner, or caster of
spells, nor one who consults ghosts and spirits or seeks oracles from
the dead. Anyone who does such things is an abomination to the
Lord, ... .' No where will you find it say it's ok to do if you only do
it for fun and don't really mean it. If you have done any or all of
these things, and you want release from it, then from your heart,
claim Jesus as your Lord and Savior if you haven't already, renounce
what has been done wrong, ask God for forgiveness in the Name of Jesus,
and God will forgive you - guaranteed.

I'm not trying to sound too hookie-pookie. And there is nothing to fear
when God is your Shield. Remember satan lost - but he's not giving up
without trying to claim more victims. Focusing on satan and his evil
forces is also a waste of time and energy. Focusing on Jesus is a lot
more fun, and rewarding besides. Not only do you meet God, you make
a Friend and find a Brother.

God Bless,

Mike Andrews

God said He would never leave me nor forsake me, and that I am His temple.

A man is what he thinks.

A body led by the soul is only 2/3 of a person : the soul tries to get rid of
			        the spirit.
A body led by the spirit is a whole person : the spirit works to make the soul
help the body. And a spirit led by God the Holy Spirit is invincible.
