I keep reading postings in net.politics,net.origins,net.physics...
that regards Science and Christianity as in conflict. That Christians
rely on blind faith. That Christians are fanatics. That evangelists
need to keep Christians ignorant so they can milk them for all they have...
And the list goes on...

First lets see if the Bible (Christian basic building block) want's blind
faith. Here are counter examples:

	Proverbs 1:20-22 (NIV)
		20) Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice
		in the public squares;

		21) at the head of the noisy streets she cries out,
in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:

22)"How long will you simple ones love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate
		knowledge? ..."

	Proverbs 3:13-18 (NIV)
		13) Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains
		understanding,

		14) for she is more profitable then silver and yields
		better returns than gold.

		15) She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can
		compare with here.

		16) Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are
		riches and honor.

		17) Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are
		peace.

		18) She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those
who lay hold of her will be blessed.

	Proverbs 4:7 (NIV)
		7) Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it
cost all you have, get understanding.

	Proverbs 14:6-8 (NIV)
		6) The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge
		comes easily to the discerning.

		7) Stay away from the foolish man, for you will not
		find knowledge on his lips.

		8) The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their
ways, but the folly of fools is deception.

Ect ect .....

We need scientific literacy, ignorance knows no barriers.
The percentage of non-scientific Christians is roughly the same
as for the *average public*. Science is a tool not a religion.
