[net.micro.mac] binhex? Can someone clear up the mysteries?

I've been trying to get some of the various forms of binhex converters
running for my mac (I really wanted to try missile command... *grin*) and
have had wonderfully bad success. can someone please post/point at up to
date sources and suggest a useful way to get a copy bootstrapped onto my
mac? there was one version that was uuencoded-- uudecoding that and using
macput to get it into a resource file got me a cute little window with a
bomb in it and an error of '26' (haven't tracked that one into inside mac
yet...). If it helps, I DON'T have basic (*urgh*) but I DO have Mac C from
consulair. Anyone want to do a general overview of how to get stuff onto
the net for posting and off of the net for use? It might be a great help to
us poor folks who haven't been reading the mac groups from the beginning.

thanks, as they say, in advance!

The evil that men do lives after them; the good is oft interred with their
bones. So let it be with Caesar. The noble Brutus hath told you Caesar was
ambitious... And Brutus is an honorable man
