[net.micro.mac] Sleep Desk Accessory

I have written a useful desk accessory that can also be fun. It is called
"Sleep". People like me who like to leave their Macs on for months at a time
sometimes get tired of turning the brightness control down to prevent the
display from being burned in (it's hard to reach behind the keyboard). This
accessory solves the problem by totally blacking out the screen (except for
an apple bouncing about) until the mouse is clicked and the screen is
restored.

The fun part is not having well-meaning Mac borrowers turn your Mac OFF, not
realizing that it is already ON with zero brightness. It's also interesting
that people keep asking "what the hell is your Mac doing?".

I've posted a fromhex version of the installer program to net.sources. By
the way, I'm a starving college student, and all donations will be gratefully
accepted (how's that for low pressure?).

Any opinions contained in the above could very well be so different from
those of CMU itself that it would be ludicrous to compare the two.

By the way, I should have mentioned that the only thing Sleep doesn't work
with is MacTerminal. I assume the problem is similar to the problems with
the other SUMacC accessories and MacTerminal. If somebody knows what this
problem is, please let me know so I can fix Sleep.

Thanks, Walt

It is impossible to have the SumMac Desk Accessarries "Sleep" and "Calendar"
(the one that lets you keep appointments) in the same system file. When I
try to use Calendar, the round-edged rectangle and its title bar come up fine,
but then it just freezes, and I have to use the programmers' switch to reset
the machine. Sleep, however, seems to work all right. Removing Sleep
removes the problem. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I'd
like to be able to run Sleep and Calendar simultaneously. Thanx.
