[net.micro.mac] How to generate a 'DEL' character on the MAC

aaa0407@ritcv.UUCP (Andy Asfour) (01/09/85)

Can anyone tell my how to generate a 'DEL' character on the MAC? I need the 'DEL'
in order to delete the last typed character on a vax780/vms which I access by
using Macterminal. The vax computers require by default that a 'DEL' be used. But
the Mac has only a backspace. Can the key assignment on the Mac be changed or can
the default on the vax be changed?

In Macterminal you get a <Delete> by pressing <Command>-<Backspace>.
There is a way to alter the character table, but it tends to break things...
