After reading all the recent comments and queries about whether or not Borland was coming out with a Mac Pascal, and after deciding it would be better to wait on Turbo Pascal than buy a $500 C compiler if such a thing was really coming, I wrote a letter to Philippe Kahn. I said that I thought it was a mistake not to produce a Mac version, especially since producing an Amiga compiler would yield a Mac compiler with relatively little effort. His reply: "When you see the Amiga, you will probably understand that the machine is to the Mac what Turbo Pascal is to Pascal compilers for the IBM PC. It's awesome! ... PS - Yes, we will have a version of Turbo Pascal for the Mac . . . `real soon now'." And there you have it... whether or not the Mac is technologically superior, whether or not what's been said before is true or not, a machine that is announced WITH Turbo Pascal probably will sell well ... especially if "real soon" comes after the Amiga is announced.
