I would like to see any reference to text where socrates said anything like what was attributed to him about "9/10ths of our problems go away after suitable definition of terms". I certainly agree that it is (relatively) easy to define determinism, but notoriously difficult to define free will. I have no idea what people mean by this when they rave that they have it.
