[net.micro.mac] Red Ryder and Set File DA

trb@drutx.UUCP (BuckleyTR) (03/14/85)

The red ryder 5/6 program that just came over the net
didn't make it OK here. There is a CRC error when
binhexing. Can we get another copy?

Also, the second posting of the SetFile Desk Accessory
now binhexes all right, but crashes when opening a file
to work on (bombs with ID = 2). Can this be reposted
AGAIN?

And thank you all VERY much for the postings!

I concur about Red Ryder 5/6, it had CRC errors here also. However,
the SETFIle DA worked fine. The only problem I had was that the first
time I tried it on my RAMDisk it complained about no room. Using it on
a non-RAMDisk worked fine.

I don't want to discourage anyone from posting further programs but
*please* make sure it was transferred correctly to your machine before
posting. Especially those large programs (like Red Ryder) which take
10+ minutes to upload.

Well, today, Friday March 15th I downloaded SetFile DA and BaseTool,
binhexed them and intalled them and they work fine.

When I binhex them (2.1) I turn off the "send line feeds" (I don't know if
this would cause any problems or not)

Also you might check to see that you're not getting a resource ID conflict.
The resource ID's are:

SetFile: 19
BaseTool: 22

If you have DA's with the same ID's in the same system....bad news.

If neither of these is the case, maybe try downloading one more time?

You're welcome. If I didn't post the DA's, my friends and I would be the
only ones to get any use out of them.
