A little more information from my actual experience: There are many things that are simply not covered by insurance. You would have to look at your policy to determine what, but one of the most surprising to me was the exclusion of any kind of plant. Neither my insurance, nor any of my neighbors, covered plants in any way. It would not even cover labor to remove a tree uprooted by a storm. All insurance that I have seen will cover either the policy limits or 80% of the value of the property. This is on the theory that the land is worth 20% and never destroyed. J. Beal btl-wh
