[net.misc] More Homeowners insurance

netnews (08/13/82)

A little more information from my actual experience:
There are many things that are simply not covered by insurance.
You would have to look at your policy to determine what, but one
of the most surprising to me was the exclusion of any kind of
plant. Neither my insurance, nor any of my neighbors, covered plants
in any way. It would not even cover labor to remove a tree uprooted
by a storm.

All insurance that I have seen will cover either the policy limits
or 80% of the value of the property. This is on the theory that
the land is worth 20% and never destroyed.
