Special Relativity shows us that time-like slices ( a set of simultaneous events ) are not invariant. It is easy to miss the profundity of this until one realizes that "the present moment" is such a slice. Our entire awareness is restricted to "the present moment" and it is hard to disabuse oneself of the notion that it is an absolute. I thought that "Slaughterhouse Five" ( especially the movie ) did an excellent job of conveying the slipperiness of "the present." Lew Mammel, Jr. - BTL Indian Hill
