In the first place, very little that has been posted here was not already available on Compuserve. There is a *lot* of stuff there that has not made it here yet. More importantly, however, is the ongoing discussion of Mac issues and problems that is available there. First-hand accounts of use of new software packages are showing up all the time. In fact, there is a whole section of the MAUG (Micronetted Apple User's Group) devoted to MAC commercial software packages. Three of the available eight sections are devoted to the MacIntosh, and one of those is used to disseminate info about Inside Macintosh. All the software supplement stuff that Apple has given to the public domain is available there. I have a 300/1200 baud modem, and I just about always log on at 1200 now. I can get on, do a quick scan of new upload files, and then start a download of the latest gab on Mac hacking for later reading offline, and be off in 10 minutes (or $2.00!). As long as I don't do that every day, the monthly charge is not too unacceptable. This is not to say that there aren't problems, however! The system C'Serve uses is a kludge compared to the stuff we unix user's are used to. I don't think that should stop anyone, however! Kim Helliwell hplabs!analog!kim
