I just bought a copy of MegaMax C today, and yes, sizeof(short) = 1 in
MegMax C.
I should note that this is version 2.0 of their compiler. This version
includes several nice features not included in earlier versions. They
are:
- A "batch" utility to ease long compilation sequences. While
not as smart as a "make" utility, this should allow you to
go look in the refrigerator, watch "Star Trek", or file away
all those floppies on your (real) desk top while the compile runs.
- Setjmp and longjmp are now included in the library ( yea! ).
- A "convert" utility to allow your source to conform to
Inside Macintosh type conventions ( this was a serious
deficiency of the first release ).
- A "size" utility to show executable segment sizes in an
object file.
- Both the "Edit" ( by Bill Duvall, I believe ) and "File"
ascii editors.
- More "Macish" user interfaces to all the utilities.
Standard utilities include the compiler, linker, system library, "include"
files, the Rmaker resource compiler, a code improver ( optimizer ), a
librarian, and a disassembler ( for object code only, not for absolute code,
I think; I'll post corrections once I get a chance to play with it ).
Usual disclaimers apply ( I have no affiliations with MegaMax, etc. ).
Special disclaimer for today : even though it is April 1, no jokes thus
far.
