Andy Tannenbaum comments on the fact that WBAI, once an important medium is the discussion of current issues has ended up being rarely anything but a podium for political flaming. It seems as if it is often the case that a tool set up by idealist types, and somehow it ends up as a podium for people with an ax to grind. Is there some correlation with USENET?
