I recently began using Microsoft BASIC Ver. 2.0, and am really impressed at the ease with which you can program in the "Mac" environment! They've made it *SIMPLE* to deal with most user-interface aspects of the Mac, including menus, dialog boxes with various types of buttons and edit fields, mini-finders, etc, and have even provided for asynchronous traps to allow unsolicited activity from any of these areas! Of course, the only problem is that program execution speed is slow, compared to a compiler. (An idea for someone with lots of time who wants to make lots of money: "What we REALLY need is a compiler which will take as input any valid Microsoft BASIC Ver. 2 source file.") ~~~Jeff~~~ Work address: ARPAnet: HARROW%EXODUS.DEC@decwrl.ARPA Usenet: {allegra,Shasta,decvax}!decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-exodus!harrow Easynet: EXODUS::HARROW Telephone: (617)858-3134 USPS: Digital Equipment Corp.
