I've just gotten a Davong external hard disk with the Beta release of their volume manager for my Mac. It's all wonderful, with one exception. It seems that the Davong plugs into the modem connector on the back of my Mac (or the printer connector, but that seems to be not as fast). The problem is: I already have both a modem and a printer. Now it seems that I must give up either my modem or my printer in order to use the hard disk, or at the very least alternate hand-plugging the modem and printer into the printer connector. All this seems pretty silly to me. Surely there must be a way to have all three of external hard disk, modem and printer at the same time. So tell me: is there some way to solve this problem? The documentation refers to something called the AppleBus. I presume that that is the name of the bus on which the printer, modem and hard disk go. Can the AppleBus be extended in some obvious way to connect to more than two devices?
