I have increased my Mac's video screen from the standard 6 1/2 * 4 1/4 inches to 7 1/4 * 5 1/4 inches. The following adjustment will increase the size of the video image by about 20 %. To do this just open your Mac and adjust the, well labelled, potentiometers, on the video board. The potentiometers are very easy to reach and adjust. After you have enlarged the video image, to just short of the periphery, then readjust the focus potentiometer. BE VERY CAREFUL!!! There are very HIGH VOLTAGES on this board. Use an insulated screwdriver and adjust only the potentiometers. You shouldn't have any problems so long as you DON"T POKE AROUND! I now find it so much easier working with this wide screen Mac. The only short comings you might notice is that the focus may be off, very slightly, in the screen periphery. To provide a reference for focusing I used 9 point text across the entire screen. THIS WRITER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE WHICH MAY OCCUR TO YOU OR YOUR MAC!! ZZZZzzzaaaapppPPP!!!! #@$^#!#&#!! .

well, that's all fine and dandy.... but now your screen is, of course, no longer the same size as a printout of whatever's on it. If one is doing any graphics, that would not be a good idea. by, the way... does anyone know how to call the routine that adjusts the contrast? I know this is software selectable, because there's a D.A. that does it (like on a lisa.... i mean XL). Perhaps height and focus are also selectable? I doubt it, but its a thought. Maybe on the Macintosh II.
