Hello aliens ...
Upon returning from work today, my copy of USA Today contained an
article in the Money section called "Apple seeks mate to buck downturn".
The article says Apple is cutting back on perks, and is seeking to absorb
or to be absorbed. An analyst suggested the DEC would be a candidate for
absorber, while GCC (maker of the HyperDrive) and Centram Systems West, Inc.
could be absorbees. However, Doug Macrae of GCC claimed the such a
take over would be fought. But, he also said "... We are setting up things
with Apple to make joint sales calls."
As speculation (purely!), I wonder if GCC is going to design and provide
the rumored 20 internal disk upgrade for the Fat Mac that Apple announced
recently. I have heard the there are HyperDrive users inside Apple.
There is always hope ...
