Does anybody have any experiences (good or bad) using plastic printwheels for a Diablo printer? We are destroying printwheels at an astonishing rate on our DEC WPS-8 system. The printers are two Diablo model 1345's We use the printers for about 2 hours per day. DEC comes out and services the printers on a regular schedule, but doesn't seem terribly interested in improving either the print quality or the reliability. The optional printers for the WPS-8 do not include any of the newer models of either Diablo or DEC printers. We are currently evaluating various types and makes of plastic printwheels. Does anyone have any recommendations? We also require about six characters on the printwheel to be added. (deleting selected characters as well) Currently, there is a local shop that will modify the wheels to our specifications. Are there any other suggestions for obtaining a few character changes without having a printwheel designed specifically for us? I'd appreciate any and all (within reason) suggestions!
