The nice people at Apple sent me my spiral bound MacTerminal manual today (early versions of the program went out with preliminary manuals, with the final version due out Real Soon Now -- Real Soon Now just arrived). Nice manual, set up the same way as the other Mac manuals, informative but not overwhelming. At least as interesting is the note that came with it. Earlier I had gotten a note saying that 2.0 would be available in a few weeks at my dealer. The latest comment from Apple is that it will be available 'late in the summer' because they are adding some enhancements to it. The enhancements are NOT an integrated binhex as speculated in this group earlier, but support for multiple fonts similar to the way the vt100 handles the fonts, with two different fonts available by escape sequence and each font selectable to allow for easy internationalization (for example, you can choose an English version of the font (with pound sign) for the default, and a vt100 graphics line drawing font for the other. This should make the program easier to use in other countries and bring it closer to a real vt100 clone. The manual has these commands in it already, and it looks interesting. From what I can tell (cursory scan of the manual) there isn't a lot more to the upgrade beyond fixing. At least, I didn't notice anything else in the manual that wasn't there... chuq -- :From the offices of Pagans for Cthulhu: Chuq Von Rospach {cbosgd,fortune,hplabs,ihnp4,seismo}!nsc!chuqui nsc!chuqui@decwrl.ARPA Who shall forgive the unrepentant?
