Has anyone out there having problems with VersaTerm sending garbage out the printer port? I think the problem has something to do with AppleTalk - perhaps VersaTerm doesn't check to see if the printer port is being used by AppleTalk before writing to it. Sometimes VersaTerm just hangs on startup until I unplug the printner. VersaTerm also seems to jam AppleTalk so that no one else can use the net. -- Craig A. I think the problem has something to do with AppleTalk - perhaps Around version 1.50 I made a couple of changes to VersaTerm that would allow VersaTerm to coexist with AppleTalk (ie the printer port is not initialized on startup, but rather whenever you print). But, don't ever try to "Print Stream..." whenever you are configured to AppleTalk, the printer port will be initialized to 9600 baud etc. Sometime in the future, a version of VersaTerm may support printers and or serve as a virtual terminal on the AppleTalk network. We will have to see how the ImagwWriter will fit into the AppleTalk scheme of things. Lonnie Abelbeck ihnp4!rduxb!lra

I don't know about other net.places, but the pirated versaterm that hit the net has many bugs in it (hey, we were curious about the info section and the name in there). either we had a bad copy sent here (which is all right since it was an illegal copy), or the person posting it really didn't know what he/she was doing and trashed the copy before it was sent. any which way, I am glad to say that it appears that out university does NOT have a working copy of the priated version.
