A while back I asked for information on letter quality printers and experiences hooking them up to the mac. Here are the responses I got, for others that might be interested. chuq ---- From ihnp4!uw-beaver!tektronix!tekig4!bradn If you aren't looking for a typewriter in the deal, the route of "a Brother typewriter with the RS232 interface" is a waste of money. That little interface plus cables costs over $200 (remember, that's in *addition* to the original cost of the typewriter). I've given up on trying to get a letter-quality printer for my Mac -- Now I'm looking for a print shop that offers laserwriter output from macwrite files. You might look at it instead of using MacWrite. Also, the microsoft MacEnhancer provides a parallel port for a printer that might be workth looking at. I don't know if it has printer emulation software in it, but...
