We just received *Inside Appletalk* here, and again I was disappointed to discover that part of the machine-readable software is inaccessible because it is on a Lisa disc. (This also caused me a lot of annoyance when I received the software supplement and more than half of the discs were in Lisa format. Sure, Lisa binaries aren't going to be very useful on the Mac, but not everything is binary.) It seems to me that an obvious tool would be a program (or utility routine on the system heap) which provides access to Lisa discs as an external filesystem. I'd be quite happy to be able to index the discs and copy files from them to a Macintosh disc. Does anyone have such a tool? Alternately, can anyone direct me to a description of the Lisa's disc format so that I can write my own? Please respond by mail. If there's sufficient interest I'll summarize to the net. -- John Bruner (S-1 Project, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) MILNET: jdb@mordor [jdb@s1-c.ARPA] (415) 422-0758 UUCP: ...!ucbvax!dual!mordor!jdb ...!seismo!mordor!jdb
