[net.misc] marriage tax

honey (09/17/82)

this note is prompted by a digression in net.singles that no longer belongs
there, as if anyone cares, in which one of the participants asserts that the
marriage tax "is just the government expressing its opinion that women
shouldn't work and its (sic) high time we removed these archaic notions from
our government" (floyd!rjs). no, robert, it's just congress's way of ensuring
that two shall live as cheaply as one.
